TO HIRE OR NOT?
The new London ‘hire a bike’ scheme has had mixed reviews. Many have thought it is a great way to beat traffic and also the free 30 minute journey means many can just pop out in their lunch break.
However, one of the most unbelievable stories I have read so far is people being over charged. One man has received £900 in charges from TFL, as the bike he was using did not register being returned to its dock. TFL are now refunding the money and the man is also receiving £220 in compensation too!
Why bother with all that worry? At the moment you have to sign up, so if you haven’t you have to wait until everyone can use them. Also there is the hassle if there are no bikes at the dock or if there are no spaces when you return to the dock meaning another 15 minute journey to another one! No thanks.
If you really want to ride in London then you may as well just buy a cheap bikes. The amount of money and hassle you save in the long run will probably be worth it.
